Dr. Yulia Sidorova (born 1978) has a postdoctoral fellowship from the Institute of Biotechnology, University of Helsinki and received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 2005. The Ph.D. project was focused on the field of Toxicology. In 2005, she joined the laboratory of Prof. Saarma to study neurotrophic factors and develop and test neurotrophic factor mimetics. She established the high throughput system for the screening of chemical libraries for the selection of GDNF mimetics and participated in the discovery of the initial set of GFL mimetics. Dr. Sidorova has published 11 papers in the fields of toxicology and neurotrophic factors biology has participated in several EU-FP7 projects as a researcher and is currently involved in two research projects, assisting with the coordination and management of one of them.
